Does anyone know of a good company for debt consolidation?

I am looking for any advice on debt or cosolidation information from someone about a good company to contact. I know there are some scammers out there and any information would help. Thanks!

All companies debt payment are scams. They promise the world but can not deliver after taking their money. When we got to the letters of debt payment while I worked in the credit union, just disregarded it. Then he would contact the member to give information about the advice consumer credit a national non-profit. They work with creditors to reduce payments and interest rates.
